Simple Holiday Drinks – Raspberry Champagne Float

December 4, 2012

Raspberry Champagne Float

I am certainly no expert on cocktails. Given that I don’t drink liquor other than the occasional dirty martini (which is more olive juice than anything really), I am more than positive anyone reading this can shame me with some spectacular drink recipes. But if you’re like me and an exclusive wine drinker that wants something festive and less than three steps, you’ve found a new soul sister!

Here’s a simple recipe for a Raspberry Champagne Float that only contains – you guessed it – three ingredients. And it’s ohhhhh sooooo good! I’m actually drinking one right now. It’s the hazard of photographing wine in the middle of the day. Poor me.

• Raspberry Sorbet
• Raspberries
• Your favorite Champagne

Simply find a wide brim glass such as a stemless wine glass (unless you can somehow manage to shove the sorbet into a wine flute) and then…

1) Drop some fresh raspberries into the bottom
2) Add 2-3 scoops of sorbet into the glass
3) Pour your champagne and garnish with extra raspberries

BHAM! You’re done!

I would suggest using a dry champagne such as Brut or Extra Dry. Anything more sweet than that might be too much considering the sugar from the sorbet sweetens everything naturally.

Cheers and happy holidays everyone!

Yum! And I love the red color! Can you do the same thing with Cherry?

So simple yet so effective! You just proved that less is more! Overly complex drinks are a total turn off when you’re hosting a party! LOL! Thank you for the easy yet genius idea! Whip me up a wine version of a mojito and I’ll love ya forever!

Don’t worry! That’s next! I love Mojitos too, but I can’t wrap my mind around the right proportion of ingredients! I’ll make a Mojito version this weekend and post for you. Thank you for the feedback!
