This winery is by far our favorite winery for Cabernet Sauvignon, and I would argue to the death that it’s one of the best Cab producers in California. And that’s not even just my humble, non-professional opinion.
Markham is by far one of our favorite wine producers so we were SO EXCITED to go to their facility for the first time. The tasting room is cool and contemporary with a beautiful koi pond outside. They also happened to have a photography display of Rolling Stone covers taken by famed photographer, Baron Wolman. As two photographers, we were certainly in heaven tasting wine and looking at the gallery display.
Boasting 107 rooms covering 121,000 square feet on 170 acres, this castle makes it impossible to get bored. It even has a moat, drawbridge, great hall, chapel and torture chambers (rest assured nobody has actually been held or tortured.) The castle officially opened it’s doors in 2007 and has been flooded with mystified visitors ever since.
