I know that these photos are less than spectacular and this post is going to be brief. I apologize! Terri and I were actually here for business and not pleasure this past weekend because we were doing an engagement shoot. Terri took all the photos, and I schlepped around equipment in between. The only shots I was able to grab are these random photos from my iPhone. After we were finished shooting, I just didn’t have any mojo left to “officially” photograph anything for the blog. Well ok – I probably could have but I was much more interested in tasting the wine and getting to know our awesome soon-to-be bride and groom. 😉 Guilty as charged! LOL
I would be remiss if I didn’t write a little sumthin’ sumthin’ about Bel Vino though. This place was hopping with activity. Not only are the grounds beautiful, but the interior tasting room consists of multiple tasting spaces. One of which is an incredibly cool barrel room with lighting only comparable to a night club. It was nice and dark with the barrels beautifully lit for ambiance.
They also boast a diverse tasting menu that consisted of everything from Riesling and Viognier to Malbec and Bordeaux style blends. Every Saturday and Sunday they offer a Tapas and wine tasting experience. The staff was also fantastic and incredibly friendly. If I lived in the Temecula area, this would be my local hangout! Check it out if you’re ever around!
PS. While I really try to keep my opinions neutral about wine because it’s such a subjective topic, I would say in this case that the reds were overall better than the whites.
Gen’s Rating: Glass
• Glass: Represents that we thought the wines were enjoyable enough to have a full glass but not enough for us to purchase a bottle.
• Bottle: Represents that we thought the wines were so good that we at least purchased one bottle (at a minimum) before we left and would be a great place to uncork and have a picnic.
• Barrel: Means that we thought that one or more of the wines were so good that we wanted to crawl inside a barrel and drink our way out. 🙂 Also means we purchased multiple bottles and/or even joined their wine club.
